Either — many menu and advertising shoots happen on location in the restaurant or bar's own kitchen and space, while product-style drink and dish shots for marketplaces and social content are often shot in studio for full lighting control.
A typical session runs half a day to a full day depending on the number of dishes or drinks and looks required. Turnaround on edited images is usually a few business days after the shoot.
